Ireland won the 2019 FEI Jumping Nations Cup Final . This way they secured the place for the next year’s Olympics.
The first round was won by the Belgians with only four penalties. The elimination of half of the field led to the battle of three in the final round as Ireland, Italy and Colombia were the ones to fight for the Olympic quota.
With the clear rides of Paul O’Shea and Cian O’Connor, one time penalty for Darragh Kenny and not counting the knockdown of Peter Moloney the Irish team took a victory in the entire Nations Cup ahead of Belgium and Sweden. That gave them right to start as a team at the Tokyo 2020 Games while Italy and Colombia have no more chance for that with only group F’s qualifier to be held.
