Chinese sailor Yunxiu Lu leads the women’s gold fleet at RS:X World Championships before the last day of competition. Among men there was no change of medal positions.
Only one race was held in the men’s fleet. It was won by Piotr Myszka, who went up to fifth place. The podium was not changed as the athletes behind the Pole at the finish line were Dutchmen Dorian van Rijsselberghe (3rd overall) and Kiran Badloe (leader), while Pierre Le Coq finished in sixth place.
In women’s fleet Lilian De Geus lost her lead as she came 23rd in the last race of the day, that added her 20 points for the Thursday’s only race to the overall result. That was used by Yunxiu Lu, who took the lead with 6 points of advantage. Third place was kept by Israeli Katy Spychakov, who became U21 leader as Giorgia Speciale fell down to fifth place, behind her teammate, Marta Maggetti.
Saturday will be the final day of the championships in Torbole, with one more gold and silver fleet race as well as medal races in the schedule.
