Professional Boxer Maxim Dadashev has apparently passed away from injuries he received in a fight last night against Puerto Rican boxer Subriel Matias. The official cause of death has not yet been revealed, but it most likely was some type of brain injury according to ESPN’s Max Kellerman. Kellerman stated that he believed the death was due to over-punishment during the fight. Dadashev was supposedly trying to make a career in the United States in order to obtain a green card (a legal paper that gives the holder the right to remain legally in the US). As with all sport deaths the incident will be intensely studied and hopefully prevented in the future. Dadashev was just 26 years old at the time of his death. No announcements have been made about any upcoming services to be held for the boxer.
