Brazil is another country with the full team and individual Tokyo 2020 quota in table tennis already secured. Their men’s and women’s teams won the continental qualification tournament.
The only duel when the men’s team lost a match was a battle against Argentina. The deciding match between Viktor Ishiy and Pablo Tabachnik finished with the 3-0 victory of the Brazilian representative, giving the quota to the Canarinhos.
The Brazilian women’s team didn’t have a single match lost, even against the leader of the Puerto Rican team, Adriana Diaz, who has already an individual quota for next year’s Olympics secured. This way Brazil joins Germany, Egypt, China and USA, who also won both team quotas, as well as Japan, who has them ensured as the host of the Olympics.
